We’got the prizes!!!

The Canterville Ghost by 4º ESO

During María Auxiliadora festivity the students of 4th ESO performed a play version of the story of “The Canterville Ghost” by Oscar Wilde.

During our stay in Somalo last week, 15 May, we played an interesting game about Europe with our English and French teachers

New edition of the English contest-game Big Challenge and as we have been doing for a few years in May a group of students of 2nd of Secondary participate in this contest.

Concurso euroscola XX edición

En la clase de 3º A nos hemos dividido en dos grupos en los que trabajamos en inglés y español respectivamente.

Ya hemos empezado a trabajar haciendo varias presentaciones Powerpoint en las que hemos tratado temas como la Unión Europea en general, el Parlamento Europeo, los diferentes partidos políticos europeos, etc.

A parte de estos trabajos grupales, en la sala de informática, hemos estado leyendo a lo largo de varias clases un cómic en la página web de Euroscola donde nos ayuda a entender cómo funciona la Unión Europea y donde también nos cuenta distintos acontecimientos que han ocurrido en diferentes países miembros.

Después de este comic, responderemos a unas preguntas sobre lo que éste nos cuenta.

El concurso consiste en la realización de éstas actividades sobre la UE, la lectura del cómic, etc. y más tarde, en la fase final, reflejarlo en un Blog que debemos crear.

El premio final del concurso será la participación en el Programa Euroscola del Parlamento Europeo en Estrasburgo (Francia), junto con jóvenes de otros países de la Unión Europea. Será organizado durante el curso académico 2014 – 2015.

On Monday 17th March it was St. Patrick's Day, and in the English classes we have learnt about how it is celebrated in Ireland and in other places around the world.

School of Languages

On Wednesday 12, we received the visit of the coordinator of the collaboration programme with the School of Languages. The aim of the visit is to explain the students how the exams are and to familiarize them with the Official School of Languages.

The school follows the Programa de Colaboración between Secondary Schools and the School of Languages to obtain the basic certificate in English.

The programme aims to facilitate those students who want to reach the objectives in English in Secondary and, at the same time they are prepared to obtain the official certificate in English corresponding to the basic (A2) of the Official School of Languages.

The students are prepared in two years:

1st course basic level 3rd ESO

2nd course basic level 4th ESO

The studenst received lessons in the school, from 14.05 to 15.00.

A Tale of 3 Cities

On Wednesday 26th February Secondary students attended a cultural lecture in English called “A Tale of 3 Cities” given by Macmillan and organized by the English department.
